Sand Globe Desk Ornament-Seashells

Ever since the Magic 8 ball the need to "shake and tilt" a globed toy has been the decoration for American desktops!
The popular toy the "Magic 8 ball" turned into one of the most popular desk paperweights of the 1980's.
The 8 ball was originally a fortune telling toy that dates back to 1946, but over time it became a universal paperweight and desk ornament. Weighted down glass globes became a popular desk collectible in the 1980's. Various snow globes, sand globes, and ornamental water globes were the ideal "visual aid" a person would want and need for a decorative paperweight. In earlier times, the sand globe would display a single dried small starfish or sand dollar, but by the 1990's more sand globes were filled with seashell medleys. By the early 2000's, seashell sand globes became a DIY arts and crafts item that was massed produced, and any glass artisan could hand blow dozens of clear glass globes to weight with any materials to use or to sell retail. Not much has changed since then in the way of the sand globe, only the need to design the next best 3D printed desk ornament.
This particular sand globe was most likely made between 2000-2005 with REAL finely ground sand and mostly FAKE seashells. That being said it is still very well made, and the glass is handblown. MemoryLaneVintiques cannot promise the landscape of our sand globe can provide serenity for any buyers like most other "seashell sand orbs" on e-commerce sites. We always believed that ocean waves contributed to that particular calmness in which this ornament doesn't make a single sound.
