Vintage Brass Candlesticks-Japan, circa 1960's

These are well crafted tapersticks made in the Japanese sixties.
A taperstick is a candlestick holder designed to hold taper candles. A taper candle is a long, slender candle used for decorative purposes or during religious ceremonies. Tapersticks come in various shapes and sizes. They have been used for centuries to hold and display taper candles. These two are brassware made in Japan and then shipped back to a family member in the United States by the purchaser (serviceman). They are in good condition and have no verdigris on the patina. These candlesticks are a sectional assembly and not a single stemware piece. Purchase includes both tapersticks with hilted wax catches. They weigh 11 ounces each and stand 5.5" tall.
