Syndicate Sales, Inc. has been in business since 1946. The family-owned company is a manufacturer and distributor of floral industry products, home decor, and other items.
The company manufactures and distributes over 1,500 products, from bouquet vases to aqua products out of a 1,000,000 square foot warehouse in Kokomo, Indiana.
Syndicate Sales has customers in all 50 states, Canada, South America, Europe, and even Japan.
Del Demaree Sr. founded Syndicate Sales in 1946 when he introduced the "Aquapic", a water tube with a rubber cap for inserting flower stems. Yep...that little green "ear drop tube" you see sticking out of potted dirt!
Pressed glass is a type of glassware made by pouring molten glass into a mold and pressing it into shape with a plunger before it solidifies. The process was developed in the United States in the 1820's and very well revolutionized glass-making by making glass more affordable and available. This was a huge advantage for florist when FTD florists started using pressed glass vases around 1978. These vases are considered collectible and are often referred to as "FTD glass" even though FTD has nothing to do with the glass vase production.
FTD was founded in 1910 as Florists' Telegraph Delivery which is a floral wire service that delivers flowers, plants, gift baskets, and more to over 150 countries and all 50 states. The company's mission is to help people express love, strength, and joy through flowers. FTD partners with local florists to handcraft and deliver arrangements. Customers can choose a delivery time and address, and select from a variety of floral designs. This partnership between florists and delivery is still available and used today.
